It's Book Week this week!
- The Premier's Reading Challenge finished at midnight on Friday August 21. We have 88 students who have completed this challenge as at 4.10 on Friday. There may be some more last minute entries. The number is slightly disappointing compare to previous years but considering that there was a hitch with access to the site for some time, that's not too bad a response. With Years K-2 we add in any that teachers have read to the students so often just a few more are needed to complete the challenge.
- The Inaburra Reading Challenge (3-6) is also now finished and Monday August 24 is the last chance to hand in your booklets. I will choose a number of students who have put in a big effort to challenge their reading habits and they will receive some iTunes cards as prizes.
- Years 5 & 6 are invited to take part in the Great Book Swap being run in the Senior School Library this week. Bring in any unwanted books on Monday or Tuesday to donate. Purchase some great books for up to $3 each. The money will go to an indigenous Literacy initiative.
- Friday is our Book Week Assembly. Students are invited to dress up as a book character (with a copy of the book or cover and take part in our Book Parade. Alternatively Years 3-6 my dress as something cow or dairy related. There will be a Quiz show on knowledge of the Shortlisted books during the assembly.
